Abstract
Colloidal-198Au is used for the measurement of blood flow of the liver because of its high affinity with the liver. Ando and Hisada et al. reported, for the first time, the distribution of 198 AuC14 in the body.
The purpose of the present experiment is to investigate the distribution of liquid-198Au and colloidal-198SAu of different size in Au particles in each tissue of rats, their affinity with each tissue and blood hemodynamics.
Sample rats, weighed 160¡¾14gr., were divided into 3 groups of early phase(10, 30, 60, 90 and 120 seconds), intermediate phase (15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes) and long phase (5, 10, 20, 40, 80, 120 and 140 hours). Each group was measured and its radioactivity was corrected at 10¥ìCi/ce (=100,000 counts/min) by the femoral venous injection. The injection was done in a short time and distribution ratio in the blood and each tissue on the total counts up taken at the time of measurement of each group was recorded.
a) Liquid-198Au was injected and the distribution rate of radioactivity in the blood and each tissue in the early phase group was observed in the order of the blood, lung, liver, kidney and spleen. The blood showed an exponential decrease while other tissues showed a gradual increase. A maximum value was observed in the lung at 60 minutes with subsequent decrease. In the intermediate phase group, it showed a decreasing tendency in the blood, lung and liver while it began to increase after 30 minutes in the kidney and 45 minutes in the spleen.
In the long phase group, the distribution rate reached a maximum value at 2 hours in the kidney, showing a maximum plateau value while it showed an increasing tendency in the spleen.
